Printing a QR code sounds straightforward, but many factors can compromise readability.

Choosing the right file format

Export in SVG or EPS for professional printing. If using PNG, ensure 300 DPI minimum. JPEG is not recommended due to lossy compression.

Print media and constraints

On paper, use 170 gsm minimum. For textile, screen printing or DTF offers better sharpness. On metal or plastic, avoid overly reflective surfaces.

Positioning and quiet zone

Maintain a quiet zone at least four modules wide. Never place the code on a textured background or across a fold.

Testing before production

Test with at least five different smartphones under varying lighting conditions before approving the production run.
